Aren’t You Growing Tired of Being Just a Face in the Foyer?

Aren’t You Growing Tired of Being Just a Face in the Foyer?

I’ve noticed this about church life: many churchgoers are fine in the foyer. We’re fine with the chitchat of “Hello” and “How are you?” This small talk is safe . . . and empty. It camouflages us. It’s only when we get past what I call the foyer-facades that women can really connect and get to know one another. Only then are we able to share with one another our hurts, habits, and hang-ups, as well as our needs, desires, passions, and thanks.

I don’t know about you, but my hurts, habits, and hang-ups don’t go away when I enter the church building. I’d rather not carry them back out the door with me. But living a real life for Christ can be an almost daily challenge. What I need, and maybe what you need, is to have people in our lives who are there when we need a smile of encouragement, a shoulder to cry on, a prayer of petition, a blessing for support, and often a nudge to be better than we are.

This next weekend, January 13-14, our Heartfelt Experience will give you the chance to drop the façade. A door will open up for you to have those close friendships and relationships. Perhaps just as you’ve had before. But if you have never known that with women of faith, it can begin at Heartfelt. We have the best women to tell you how this can be done. Our presenters have a variety of life and faith experiences. Miss Kay Robertson, of Duck Dynasty, will share her personal story of life within a marriage and a family who went from what she describes as “hell on earth” to a life full of joy and peace – with some fame and fortune thrown in! Her daughter-in-love, Missy Robertson and Missy’s daughter, Mia, will go all out to share their journey as a mother and daughter who have known struggles most families will never go through. You’ll hear Mindy Lancaster’s testimony of overcoming a fate – that she did not allow to determine her life – when she became an orphan at a young age. You will love hearing Shellie Tomlinson’s humor – and her love for Jesus as she shares her heart. If you love to laugh, then know this: Shellie is joined in the funny department with the human “Wonder Woman of Humor,” Mary Synder.

You’ll experience them along with Lysa Terkeurst, who is as transparent and real as any woman you’ll ever love to hear. You do not want to miss this humble woman speaking about her life – before and after – she became the superb leader of the very popular women’s ministry, Proverbs 31. Come Worship. Laugh. Pray. Listen. Learn. And laugh some more.

Heartfelt Experience is like no other conference. Come alongside other women of faith who are like you. A woman who longs to be in close friendships with other Christian women who will provide faith, strength, courage, and hope to do this life. Together we are better.
