The Reason for Easter

JESUS IS ALIVE HAPPY EASTER

Christmas and Easter are celebrated worldwide by believers.

While teaching children about that first Christmas night and the birth of the Christ child may be easy, teaching kids about Easter is certainly a little more challenging. A baby being born to save the world is a fun and endearing concept to teach. Then here comes Easter.

This holiday brings to mind the baby had to grow up. Suffer. And die.

In a society of instant gratification, teaching about a season celebrating sacrifice is a harder concept for kids to grasp. However, the joy of Easter and Christ’s Resurrection can’t really be grasped without understanding the price Christ paid on Good Friday.  Celebrating the resurrection without the rest of the story does our children a great disservice. Let’s remind ourselves — and help our children understand that Jesus’ sacrifice makes Easter morning that much sweeter.
