Always Stand?

‘Tis the season for choruses.

And particularly Christmas Choruses. The kind where people cry. Smile. Shout. Raise their hands.

And stand.

Yes. Stand for the Chorus.

It is after all the Hallelujah Chorus. From Handel’s Messiah.

A Google search shows over 1.5 million sites referencing this massive musical

In many parts of the world it is traditional for the audience to stand during the Hallelujah Chorus. Legend has it that King George II was so moved by the music that he stood to his feet when he heard it, requiring that his subjects followed suit. There is some doubt over the accuracy of this story.

I think it’s probably a great idea to stand when we sing Hallelujah to the King.

After all, he’s not just any king.

He’s the King of Kings.

In your heart is where this King wants to live. Forever.

Do you know this King?

‘Tis the season to know the reason we celebrate Jesus.

I will stand with you.

In Jesus, you are never standing alone.

See you at WFR Church Sunday morning?

Meet me there?

I’d love it if you were.

At our church, we love everybody.
